A Bit About Me

Noelle Schwarz is both a registered associate MFT and Professional Clinical Counselor and holds the position of Associate Therapist at Free at Heart Online Therapy. Noelle earned her Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University and her certificate in Suicidology at Griffith University, Australia. She received her Bachelor of Arts at Claremont McKenna College in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Physics. Previously, Noelle worked as a licensed dentist and holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California.

Having a passion for learning and the healing process, Noelle has additional training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), is certified in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), and is Level 2 trained in internal family systems (IFS) through the IFS Institute. Noelle also holds her Gottman Level 2 certification and will be completing her Intimacy From The Inside Out (IFIO) training in April of this year.

While Noelle’s primary lens is IFS, she is more eclectic in her approach and pulls from the frameworks of Person-Centered, Humanistic Psychotherapy, Attachment Theory, Interpersonal Therapy, Existential and Psychodynamic modalities. She believes what you need in therapy is just as unique as you are, and thus pulls interventions from a multitude of therapies based on an individual’s needs. Noelle is working towards a specialization in couples therapy, marriage counseling, and relationship struggles as that’s where her true passion in therapy lies. She is also already very well trained in the areas of trauma, emotional regulation, suicidal ideation and self-harm behaviors.

In her work with couples, Noelle applies Emotionally Focused Therapy, an attachment-based theory, to increase self-awareness and understanding of one's partner, leading to improved communication through honesty and vulnerability.

Noelle believes therapy provides us with a better understanding of ourselves and others, which in turn, can make life challenges and relationships more manageable to navigate. Before all else, Noelle values safety, choice, collaboration, trust, empowerment, validation and respect, and unconditional positive regard with her clients. Outside of the therapeutic space, you will find Noelle either training her therapy dog Luna or traveling to exotic places.
